Fun and games by the swimming pond

Type:
Swimming pond
Zone:
Province of Brescia
Year:
2011

I chose a swimming pond because I wanted a pool but I didn’t want to look out in the winter and see a hole covered with a sheet.

At first I didn’t think I’d be swimming in it that much. I just wanted to have something to look at all year round.

Basically, the best thing about it is that you can enjoy it all year round and not only when the weather is nice and you take a dip. It’s just nice to have it there.

Two positive aspects that I had my doubts about when I chose to build a swimming pond are the clearness and cleanliness of the water. There’s just a bit of dust that forms when there are sudden changes in temperature, but it’s all part of the natural cycle and it clears up very quickly.

Another thing that I like is that the swimming pond is not static: thanks to flowers of various shapes and colours in the constantly maturing environment, the scenery keeps changing as the seasons and years go by.

I’d recommend them to everyone. Since I’ve had mine, I’ve learned to love it infinitely more than traditional pools.

It’s had a wonderful impact. Personally speaking, I start enjoying it first thing in the morning when I look out at it through the windows.

When we put the swimming pond in, we built a pergola in the garden. We spend a lot of time there reading, sunbathing and even just eating watermelons by the pond on summer evenings.

We’ve had the swimming pond since 2011 and we still think it was a great idea. If we could go back, we’d definitely make the same decision all over again.

It feels really natural, like you’re in a lake and surrounded by greenery.

We all used it a great deal during the lockdown, especially my daughters. We sometimes invite friends over for a dip and have a party in the pond.
